On the morning of May 31, 2018, President Li Jianbao of Hainan University met with Nupan, Director General of the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education of Laos, and Sai Kham Phantawong, President of Babasa Institute of Technology, and his delegation, and the two sides had an in-depth exchange on strengthening international education cooperation.

Li Jianbao extended a warm welcome to the visit of Nupan and his delegation. He pointed out that our university is currently facing a major development opportunity and hoped that under the environment of good neighbourliness and friendship between China and Laos, the university would further deepen the cooperation with Laotian universities such as Barbosa Institute of Technology, and at the same time strengthen mutual visits and exchanges to further consolidate the foundation of cooperation.

Saikang Pantawong thanked our university for its warm reception. He expressed his gratitude to Hainan University for its support to Babasa Institute of Technology in recent years and was looking forward to the cooperation agreement to be signed between the two universities. Director Nupan also expressed his gratitude to the University for training international students for Laos and expressed his hope that the University and the Lao university would strengthen the exchange of visits between teachers and establish a deeper cooperation.

The person in charge of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our university introduced the situation of our Laos campus and hoped that both sides would cooperate deeply in the construction of the Laos campus, and also welcomed more Laotian teachers and students to come to our university for exchange and study.

After the meeting, in the presence of both sides, the university signed a cooperation agreement with the Laos Babaasa Institute of Technology.
The Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Provincial Department of Education, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of Hainan University, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, the College of Economics and Management, the College of International Cultural Exchange and the College of Tourism attended the meeting.
