On the morning of December 6, 2017, Han Qinghao, Vice President of the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce, and Guo Meihua, Director of the Lao Hainan Fellowship Liaison Office, accompanied by Xu Lianying, former Secretary General of the World Hainan Fellowship Association, came to visit Hainan University. Chen Mingbao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the United Front Work Department of Hainan University, warmly received President Han Qinghao and Director Guo Meihua and their delegation, and the guests and hosts had a discussion and exchange in the meeting room of the Administration Building of the University.

First of all, Chen Mingbao expressed his warm welcome to the audience and expressed his gratitude to the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and the Lao Hainan Fellowship Liaison Office for their support and assistance to Hainan University. He then highlighted the achievements of Hainan University in recent years and expressed his hope that the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and the Lao Hainan Fellowship Liaison Office would provide support and assistance to our students in their overseas internships and employment, support our teachers and students in their academic exchanges and scientific research activities at local universities, and recommend high-level professionals (especially bilingual teaching talents) needed by the university; the university will provide scholarships and tuition fees for outstanding Hainan students recommended by the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and the Lao Hainan Fellowship Liaison Office. The University will provide scholarships and tuition fee concessions for outstanding Hainan students recommended by the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and the Laos Hainan Liaison Office, and organise short-term student exchange activities on a regular basis.

Vice President Han Qinghao and Director Guo Meihua expressed their appreciation for the achievements made by Hainan University in running the school. They expressed that the Hong Kong Hainan Chamber of Commerce and the Lao Hainan Fellowship Liaison Office value their relationship with Hainan University and Hainan Province and are willing to continue to make active efforts to promote the construction and development of Hainan University.

Yang Zhixin, Deputy Director of the Overseas Chinese and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, attended the discussion and accompanied the guests to visit the university's history museum and campus.
