1. On 9 September 2020, our Sino-Malaysia MTA programme held an admissions briefing in Penang, Malaysia.

On the evening of September 9, 2020, our University' s China-Malaysia MTA programme held a successful briefing session in Penang, Malaysia. Due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, this briefing session was entrusted to our well-known alumnus and Vice President of the Malaysian Hainan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Wang Cun Tsuen, to host the session.

On behalf of Hainan University's College of Tourism, Mr Wang gave a speech, thanking the guests for coming and giving a short presentation on the project. Mr. Wang wildly analyzed the unique location and policy advantages of Hainan and Hainan University in the context of the opportunities of Hainan Free Trade Port and International Tourism Consumption Centre, and expressed his confidence that Hainan University is developing rapidly and will become one of the best universities in China, and that the China-Malaysia MTA project will become a model of China-Malaysia higher education cooperation. The briefing session attracted many interested applicants, and during the interactive session, there were many enquiries about the programme and the entry requirements.

The briefing session was successfully completed and gave a strong impetus to the enrolment of the MTA programme in Penang, Malaysia. The briefing session was well received in Malaysia and was reported in the Malaysian newspaper Nanyang Siang Pau on 13 September.

2.On 25 November 2020, a delegation from the China-ASEAN Centre and a delegation from the ASEAN Ambassadors' Hainan Tour visited our College.

On the morning of 25 November 2020, a delegation of 12 people, including Hong Liling from the China-ASEAN Centre and the delegation of the ASEAN Ambassadors' Hainan Tour, visited our college, led by Vice President Liang Mou and accompanied by Secretary Han Liguang, and had a discussion with the ambassadorial guests in Conference Room 205 of Teaching 8, where both sides had an in-depth discussion on tourism education on the Maritime Silk Road.

During the meeting, Vice President He Biao, as the moderator, first delivered a speech to introduce the leaders and guests present and expressed a warm welcome. Ms Zhou Hongxia gave a specific introduction to the construction plan of the Maritime Silk Road Tourism Education Platform of Hainan University's School of Tourism on the main content, construction connotation, innovation points, brand impact, project extension, project impact and implementation plan of the project. Afterwards, the international ambassadors spoke one by one on the theme of the Silk Road Tourism Education Alliance and introduced the status of higher tourism education in the countries they represented. During the interactive session, the ambassador delegation actively raised relevant questions about tourism education and teaching at Hainan University, and the college leaders and teachers gave timely responses.

The successful completion of the symposium further strengthened the links between the School of Tourism and the ten ASEAN countries, and the ambassadors from each country expressed their willingness to help the School of Tourism to contact the higher education institutions in the countries they represent and to promote contacts and cooperation between them.
