University of Malaya
The University of Malaya, one of the top 100 universities in the world, is the leading public research comprehensive university in Malaysia. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, it is the oldest higher education institution in Malaysia. It is especially famous for arts and sciences and medicine, and enjoys world-class reputation in many disciplines. As the largest and most famous university in Malaysia, the University of Malaysia is a member of the University Alliance of Asia, the University Alliance of the Pacific Rim, the University Alliance of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Universiti Malaya is ranked 59th in the 2021QS World University Rankings and 8th in the 2022QS Asian University Rankings. The former King Edward VII Medical College, established in 1905, and Raffles College, established in 1929, were merged to form the University of Malaya on 8 October 1949.
