MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students 2022
为了鼓励和吸引学生报考南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室(英文简称MRU)以及培养优秀硕士生、博士生，2020年起特设立“MRU优秀硕士生及优秀博士生奖学金”，该奖学金的申请和管理办法如下：
In order to encourage and attract students to apply for State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in the South China Sea (MRU) and to cultivate excellent masters and Ph.D. students, the “MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students” has been established since 2020. The application and management of this scholarship are as follows.
一、申请对象
（1）所有报考MRU的2022级硕/博申请者，欢迎国内外高校优秀的往届、应届本科及硕士毕业生（最迟须在入学前取得本科或硕士学位）申请。
（2）已成功进入“硕博连读”或“直博”的优秀应届本科毕业生。
1. Applicants
(1) All MRU’s Master and Ph.D. students admitted in 2022. Outstanding previous and fresh undergraduates and master graduates from domestic and international universities are welcome to apply (all of the students must have obtained a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree by the time of admission at the latest).
(2) Outstanding fresh undergraduates who have successfully been admitted by successive postgraduate and doctoral program or Ph.D. direct-entry program.
二、申请条件
（1）必须选择南海国重全职人员作为第一导师。
（2）提交下述6.1中要求的所有申请材料。
2. Application requirements
(1) The applicant must choose a full-time staff member of MRU as the first supervisor.
(2) The applicant must submit all the application materials required in 6.1.
三、申请时间
因疫情原因，今年的奖学金申请时间由原来的3月1日-10月31日，延迟至11月30日止，过期不候，并于12月15日前公布资助结果。
3. Time of Application
Due to the epidemic, the time of application this year has been delayed from October 31 to November 30, after which the results will be announced by December 15.
四、资助名额
审核通过的情况下，资助名额不限。
4. Funding Quota
There is no limit to the number of funding quotas if the applicants are qualified.
五、资助额度和方式
（1）优秀硕士生奖励1万元/人，分12个月发放，资助一年。
（2）优秀博士生奖励2万元/人，分12个月发放，资助一年。
5. Amount and Method of Funding
(1) Excellent master students are awarded 10,000 yuan per person, which is paid in 12 monthly instalments.
(2) Excellent Ph.D. students are awarded 20,000 yuan per person, which is paid in 12 monthly instalments.
六、申请审查程序
6.1提交申请
申请者必须提交以下申请材料一份，提交文件请按以下序号依次命名。
（1）MRU优秀博士/硕士生奖学金申请表(附件1)
（2）个人未来研究设想陈述（申请前必须与MRU导师联系，获得导师确认）；
（3）学位证书及毕业证书扫描件；
（4）身份证扫描件；
（5）两名或以上专家推荐信（专家签字，联系方式，且至少包含一名MRU导师）；
（6）外语水平能力证书扫描件，申请人必须提供以下英语水平的证明之一：已通过国家英语六级的成绩单 / 托福/雅思或与以上英语水平相当的证明（英语国家大学获得学位证书）；
（7）各项证明科研能力与成果资料扫描件（科研论文、专利、参与项目等）；
（8）12月15日公布资助前，申请人需提供2份MRU公众号宣传稿（海洋科普、科研进展翻译稿件或技术研究进展，且需由MRU导师审核签字）。
6.2 审查程序
MRU组成硕/博士生奖学金委员会（含10名各研究方向的硕导和博导）对申请材料进行审查和资格审核。
6.3 资助名单公布
MRU将优秀硕士生和博士生奖学金资助名单公布于MRU官网和微信公众号，纸质版粘贴到MRU综合办307门口公示栏。
6. Application Review Procedures
6.1 Submission
Applicants must submit one copy of the following materials. Please name the documents in order of the following serial numbers:
(1) Application Form of MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students (Appendix 1).
(2) Personal statement of future research (the applicant must contact his or her supervisor to get confirmation before applying).
(3) Copies of degree certificates and graduation certificates.
(4) Copy of ID card.
(5) Recommendation letters from two or more experts (including signatures and contact information of the experts; at least one supervisor from MRU).
(6) Copies of foreign language proficiency certificates. Applicants must provide one of the following certificates: transcript of College English Test Band 6 / TOEFL / IELTS or degree from an English-speaking university.
(7) Copies of documents proving scientific ability and achievements (scientific papers, patents, projects, etc.).
(8) Before the announcement of the list on December 15, applicants should provide two copies (popularization of marine science, translated texts of papers about scientific progress or technical research progress; should be reviewed and signed by supervisor from MRU) for the publicity of MRU.
6.2 Review Procedure
MRU forms the MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students committee (including 10 supervisors of masters and Ph.D. students from each research orientation) to review and qualify the application materials.
6.3 Announcement of the Funding List
MRU will publish the list on MRU’s official website and WeChat public account, and will paste the paper version on the notice board at the entrance of MRU General Office 307.
