To establish partnership and jointly conduct marine scientific research

9月8日，厦门大学近海海洋环境科学国家重点实验室与海南大学省部共建南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室正式签约成为伙伴实验室，今后，双方将建立合作机制，拟定合作目标，共同发展。戴民汉主任与海南大学海洋学院院长、南海海洋资源利用国重室副主任周永灿代表双方签约。校党委副书记赖虹凯，海南省教育厅副厅长、海南大学党委副书记廖清林，海南大学副校长刁晓平等出席了仪式。

On September 8, 2016, the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science of Xiamen University (MEL) and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in the South China Sea (MRU) formally signed a contract and became partners. In the future, the two laboratories would establish a cooperation mechanism and formulate cooperation goals for common development. Minhan Dai, MEL Director, and Yongcan Zhou, Dean of the College of Oceanology of Hainan University and Deputy Director of MRU, signed the contract on behalf of both parties, and the ceremony was attended by Hongkai Lai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan University, Qinglin Liao, Deputy Director of The Education Department of Hainan Province and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan University, and Xiaoping Diao, Vice President of Hainan University.

赖虹凯代表学校祝愿两个伙伴实验室合作顺利，共同为服务国家南海战略及“一带一路”建设，以及区域科学研究及地方社会经济发展贡献力量。

On behalf of Hainan University, Hongkai Lai wished the two laboratories to cooperate well and jointly make contributions to the national South China Sea strategy and the “Belt and Road Initiative”, as well as the regional scientific research and socio-economic development.

廖清林代表海南省教育厅感谢厦门大学及厦门大学近海海洋环境科学国重室对海南的高层次人才培养和科学研究的大力支持，希望厦门大学与海南大学在更广范围、更多领域开展合作。

On behalf of The Education Department of Hainan Province, Qinglin Liao thanked Xiamen University and MEL for their strong support to Hainan’s high-level talent training and scientific research, and hoped that Xiamen University and Hainan University would cooperate in more areas.

刁晓平表示，希望厦门大学能进一步的在人才培养、科研团队建设与承接国家重点项目、提升校园学术氛围及干部教育培训等方面给予海南大学更多的支持与帮助。

Xiaoping Diao expressed her hope that Xiamen University could further give Hainan University more support and help in talent training, scientific research team building, national key projects declaration, campus academic atmosphere improvement, and education and training of leaders.

签约结束后，两个伙伴实验室就合作的具体事宜开展座谈。

After signing the contract, leaders of two laboratories held a discussion on the specific matters of cooperation.

根据科技部关于国重室管理的相关办法和通知精神，新建的省部共建国家重点实验室必须建立伙伴实验室制度。在南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室建设论证会上，科技部指定我校近海海洋环境科学国家重点实验室与海南大学省部共建南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室共建伙伴实验室。南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室已于今年8月7日正式挂牌成立，是海南高校第一个国家重点实验室，主要围绕南海海洋生物资源利用、南海海洋矿物资源新材料利用、南海海洋信息资源化技术等方面，开展有区域特色的南海海洋资源保护和利用研究。

According to the regulations on the management of state key laboratory of Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, the new laboratory must establish a partnership with other laboratories. In the construction demonstration meeting of MRU, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China appointed MRU to build a partnership with MEL. MRU has been officially inaugurated on August 7 this year and is the first state key laboratory in universities of Hainan. It mainly focuses on the utilization of marine bioresources in the South China Sea, the utilization of new materials of marine mineral resources in the South China Sea, and marine information recycling technology in the South China Sea.

在签约仪式开始前，来宾在校领导陪同下，参观了翔安校区。

Before the contract signing ceremony, guests visited the Xiang’an Campus under the accompany of leaders of Zhejiang University.
