Due to Hainan’s geographical and climatic characteristics, resource advantages and industrial development needs, it is important to carry out applied basic research on materials science and engineering and facilitate the fusion of subjects such as materials, chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, marine science and architecture, thus contributing to Hainan’s high-technology utilization of resources and sustainable economic development. The Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials of Tropical Island Resources, Ministry of Education has 5 main research orientations: advanced inorganic material design and preparation, application technologies of fundamentals and modification of natural rubber, new energy material application technologies, development and application technologies of ecological environment materials, and biological material application technologies.
