依托海南大学,于 2005 年 10 月经教育部批准筹建,2007 年 12月通过教育部组织专家验收,2008 年 2 月起正式以教育部重点实验室的名义开放运行,实验室面积 3000 多平方米,购置了蛋白分离鉴定系统、发酵系统、液-质联用仪、核磁共谱仪、电镜等一批生物学、药学和化学相关的先进精密仪器。实验室主要对我国南海海洋生物资源及热带地区丰富的陆地生物资源的利用进行研究,加强我国热带海洋和陆生生物的基础和应用基础研究,并提高研究水平及促进学科建设。热带生物资源教育部重点实验室,以热带生物资源的研究与利用为目的开展科学研究工作,服务于我国热带地区的经济发展。实验室确立了与海南社会经济发展密切相关特色鲜明的四个研究方向。 根据国家有重点地发展基础科学研究的方针,本着“充实、完善、凝炼、提升”的思想,实行“开放、流动、联合、竞争”的运行机制,利用现代生物技术手段,运用共建共享的机制,将重点实验室构建成为布局合理、功能齐全、开放高效、体系完备的开放型科研平台。

The Key Laboratory of Tropical Biological Resources of Ministry of Education, relying on Hainan University, was approved by the Ministry of Education in October 2005, passed the expert acceptance by the Ministry of Education in December 2007, and was officially opened in February 2008. The Laboratory covers an area of more than 3,000 square meters. It has acquired a number of advanced and precise instruments related to biology, pharmacology and chemistry, such as protein separation and identification system, fermentation system, liquid-mass spectrometer, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and electron microscope. Mainly through the research on the utilization of marine biological resources in the South China Sea and rich terrestrial biological resources in the tropics, the Laboratory aims to strengthen basic and applied basic research on tropical marine and terrestrial organisms in China, improve the level of research and promotes discipline construction. The Laboratory conducts scientific research for the purpose of research and utilization of tropical biological resources to serve the economic development of China’s tropical regions. The Laboratory has established four research orientations with distinctive features closely related to the socio-economic development of Hainan. According to the national focus on the development of basic scientific research, the Laboratory, in line with the principle of “enrichment, improvement, refinement, promotion”, operates the “openness, mobility, collaboration, competition” mechanism, uses modern biotechnology tools, and utilizes the mechanism of “joint contribution and shared benefits” so as to make it an open research platform with reasonable layout, complete functions, as well as open, efficient and complete system.
