实验室已与包括美国、英国、德国和日本等国际以及国内同行建立了广泛的、有实质性的合作关系。按照合理的综合性与专题性研究的层次和比例设立开放研究课题，支持高层次科研人员的课题研究，以促进实验室学科的发展和高层次人才的培养。实验室拟与清华大学新型陶瓷与精细工艺国家重点实验室、厦门大学近海海洋环境科学国家重点实验室实行共建合作，每年申请这两个伙伴实验室的开放课题，加快实验室的建设。另外，南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室将设置自主研发课题，在建设初期，课题数量为 5 项左右，引导和加快实验室研究人员在重要研究方向的集中和发展。

The State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in the South China Sea (MRU) has established extensive and substantial cooperative relationships with counterparts in China as well as those in such countries as the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan. Open projects are reasonably established according to the level and ratio of comprehensive and thematic research to support the research of high-level research fellows in order to promote the development of laboratory disciplines and the cultivation of high-level talents. MRU intends to implement co-construction cooperation with the State Key Laboratory of New Ceramics & Fine Processing of Tsinghua University and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science of Xiamen University, and apply for open projects of the two partner laboratories every year to accelerate its construction. In addition, MRU will set up independent research and development projects, and the number of projects will be about 5 in the early stage of construction to guide and accelerate the concentration and development of research fellows of MRU in important research orientations.
