MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students 2023

为了鼓励和吸引学生报考海南大学南海海洋资源利用国家重点实验室（以下简称“南海国重”,英文缩写为：MRU）以及培养优秀硕士生、博士生，南海国重特设立“2023年优秀硕士生及优秀博士生奖学金”，该奖学金的申请和管理办法如下：

In order to encourage and attract students to apply for State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in South China Sea (MRU) and to cultivate excellent masters and Ph.D. students, MRU has established the “MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students 2023”, and the details are as follows.

一、申请对象

（1）国内外高校优秀的往届、应届本科及硕士毕业生（最迟须在入学前取得本科或硕士学位）、所有读硕/读博申请者，不包含已在读的硕士和博士研究生。

（2）优秀应届本科毕业生已成功进入“硕博连读”或“直博”项目。

1. Applicants

(1) Outstanding previous and fresh undergraduates and master graduates as well as Ph.D. applicants from domestic and foreign universities (all of the students must have obtained graduation certificates and degree certificates by the time of admission) admitted in 2023 are welcome to apply.

(2) Outstanding fresh undergraduates who have successfully been admitted by successive postgraduate and doctoral program or Ph.D. direct-entry program.

二、申请条件

（1）必须选择南海国重全职人员作为第一导师。

（2）提交下述6.1中要求的所有申请材料。

2. Application requirements

(1) Each applicant must choose a full-time faculty member of MRU as the first supervisor.

(2) The applicants must submit all the application materials required in 6.1.

三、申请时间

此奖学金仅能申请一次，申请时间定为4月6日-11月30日，过期不候，并于12月31日前公布资助结果。

3. Application date

The application date lasts from April 6 to November 30, 2023. The results will be announced by December 31, 2023.

四、资助名额

资助名额不限。

4. Funding quota

There is no limit to the funding quotas.

五、资助额度和方式

 （1）优秀硕士生奖励1万元/人，分12个月发放，资助一年。

 （2）优秀博士生奖励2万元/人，分12个月发放，资助一年。

5. Amount and method of funding

(1) Excellent master students are awarded 10,000 yuan per person, which is paid in 12 monthly instalments.

(2) Excellent Ph.D. students are awarded 20,000 yuan per person, which is paid in 12 monthly instalments.

六、申请审查程序

6.1提交申请

申请者必须提交以下申请材料一份，提交文件请按以下序号依次命名。

（1）南海国重优秀博士/硕士生奖学金申请表(附件1)；

（2）个人未来研究设想陈述（申请前必须与南海国重导师联系，获得导师确认）；

（3）学位证书、毕业证书、录取通知书扫描件；

（4）身份证扫描件；

（5）两名或以上专家推荐信（专家签字，联系方式，且至少包含一名南海国重导师）(附件2)；

（6）外语水平能力证书扫描件，申请人必须提供以下英语水平的证明之一：已通过国家英语六级的成绩单（（CET6成绩在425分及以上） / 托福/雅思或与以上英语水平相当的证明（托福(TOEFL)纸考 550 分/网考 80 分以上；雅思 (IELTS)总成绩不低于6.0分、单项成绩不低于 5.5分）/英语国家大学获得学位证书，英语语言国家获得过学士及以上学位；

（7）各项证明科研能力与成果资料扫描件（科研论文、专利、参与项目等）；

（8）12月31日公布资助前，申请人需提供2份国重公众号宣传稿（海洋科普、科研进展翻译稿件或技术研究进展，且需由国重导师审核签字）（附件3）。

6.2 审查程序

南海国重组成硕/博士生奖学金委员会（含10名各研究方向的硕导和博导）进行申请材料审查和资格审核。

6.3 资助名单公布

南海国重将优秀硕士生和博士生奖学金资助名单公布于国重官网和微信公众号，纸质版粘贴到综合办307门口。

6. Application and review

6.1 Application

Applicants must submit one copy of the following materials. Please name the documents below in order:

(1) Application Form of MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students (Appendix 1).

(2) Statement of research in the future (applicant must contact his or her supervisor to get a confirmation before applying).

(3) Copies of degree certificate, graduation certificate and admission notice.

(4) Copy of ID card.

(5) Recommendation letters from two or more experts (including signatures and contact information of the experts; at least one supervisor from MRU).

(6) Copies of foreign language proficiency certificates. Applicants must provide one of the following certificates: transcript of CET 6 (≥425) / TOEFL (PBT≥550；IBT≥80) / IELTS (≥6.0; every part should be ≥5.5) or bachelor’s degree certificate from an English-speaking university (at least).

(7) Copies of documents proving scientific research ability and achievements (scientific papers, patents, projects, etc.).

(8) Before the announcement of the list, applicants should provide two copies (science popularization, and translated texts of papers about scientific progress or technical research progress) for the publicity of MRU which should be reviewed and signed by supervisor from MRU.

6.2 Review

MRU forms the MRU Scholarship for Outstanding Master/Ph.D. Students committee (including 10 supervisors of masters and Ph.D. students from all research orientations) to review and qualify the application materials.

6.3 Announcement of the funding list

MRU will disclose the electronic list on MRU’s official website and WeChat official account, and will paste the paper version on the notice board at the entrance of MRU Integrated Office 307.
