Burning & Bleaching Star Polyps Coral Introduction:
This is an imaginary depiction of a star polyps coral. The coral depends upon a symbiotic relationship with algae-like single-celled flagellate protozoa that live within their tissues and give the coral its coloration. With the global warming and ocean contamination, the coral died and got white(bleaching). This is why red, white and blue were selected as the main colors. The red represents the warming temperature in the ocean. The white represents the bleaching coral and hazardous materials in the ocean and the blue represent the ocean and the reflection of the ocean. The purpose of creating this artwork is to shed light on coral protection. These wonderful creatures are dying and might get extinct in the next few decades, so people around the world need to take action.
